The designs are inspired by Mughal art, nature, and geometric patterns, and are usually woven in a contrasting color to the base fabric. The saree is traditionally woven on a pit loom, where the weaver sits on the ground and operates the loom manually. It is a time-consuming process and requires great skill and concentration. A single saree can take up to 4-5 days to complete.
