Description
The Tussar Ghicha silk saree has a rich trading history all over the world. Tussar Ghicha silk saree is the symbol of class due to its natural texture and colour. What makes this Tussar Ghicha silk saree special is the natural texture and natural shine that come because of not dyed yarns i.e. Ghicha. Ghicha silk is the yarns that are not dyed, these threads are the undyed leftover of pure Tussar silk. Tussar Ghicha silk offers a natural texture and an exceptional sensational weaving. The technique involves a lot of effort and hard work. Firstly, the caterpillars of wild silk that are found in the rainforest are collected. These caterpillars are fed on Arjun tree leaves. It is said that the diet of the silkworm affects the quality of the silk which is why Tussar Ghicha silk is different from other silk. Cocoons are collected and boiled. This process is known as thread extraction. Then comes the magical step - spinning and weaving. In a world full of machine-made products we bring you something that ‘Reflects the hands of its makers’.
