Description

Cotton Mekhela Sadar is a traditional attire worn by women in the Indian state of Assam. It consists of a long skirt called Mekhela, a blouse called Sadar, and a matching stole called Chadar or Orni. It is primarily made using cotton fabric and is known for its simplicity and elegance. The Mekhela is a long skirt that is usually around 2. 5 to 3 meters in length and 1 to 1. 2 meters in width. It is draped around the waist and secured with a tuck at the back and a knot at the front. The skirt is usually plain or has minimalistic designs such as stripes or geometric patterns. The Sadar is a fitted blouse that is worn with the Mekhela. It is similar to a regular blouse but has a unique design with a high collar, long sleeves, and a front opening. The traditional Sadar is made of cotton and is usually white in color.
