Melian

Melian, also known as Queen Melian, was a powerful Maiar in J. R. R. Tolkien''s Middle-earth legendarium. She is primarily known from Tolkien''s works The Silmarillion and The Unfinished Tales. Melian was born in the Undying Lands, a realm inhabited by the Ainur (angelic beings) who helped create the world of Arda. She was one of the Maiar who chose to enter the world and serve the Valar (the most powerful Ainur) in their quest to shape Arda and guide the Children of Ilúvatar (Elves and Men). Unlike most other Maiar, Melian did not take a physical form. Instead, she existed as a being of pure light and radiance, with the ability to change her form at will. She was also a master of magic, with the power to create illusions, enchantments, and warding spells.
